Full time positions available on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Responsible for leading multiple production lines and work groups to ensure the safety of our employees and that safe, quality sausages are produced. This position sets up, adjusts, and troubleshoots food production and packaging machinery, and monitors product quality to established standards. Position is responsible for supervising up to 40 employees.
Ensure packaging lines are set up and ready for shift start and every new product
Assign personnel to packaging lines and other job functions
Ensure proper procedures and materials are being used
Make sure that all quality and customer specs are met
Perform maintenance work and troubleshooting on department equipment and lines
Teach and enforce physical safety procedures and processes
Anticipate production or scheduling issues and try to correct to prevent downtime or quality issues
Maintain morale among staff and support the culture through the Cher-Make Code of Ethics
Maintain a high level of communication among the packaging department personnel and other departments
Continually improve processes and training programs that ensure safety, quality and efficiency
Review and approve all paperwork by end of shift
Manage attendance and vacation schedule for direct reports
